It would be wise to consider vinyl, tile, or carpeting screened for stain resistance, since hardwood floor can damage easily. Laminate and LVT are also a safe option.
You can install certain types of flooring (vinyl, laminate, hardwood, carpet, etc.) over existing flooring, if the surface is firm, hard and flat. You cannot install anything over a layer of any kind of floating floor.
There are waterproof laminate and vinyl flooring, and you can even get hardwood that is quite moisture repellent, but the safest option are ceramic or porcelain tiles. As there is less moisture in the kitchen, you can get more creative there.

I have two areas with parquet flooring - 1 off approx 36sqm and the other 15 sqm that is partially sanded and sealed. I want to resand and reseal both these areas. No skirting required. Please quote these 2 off areas separately. I also need informaiton on the drying/curing time in which the area cannot be used.

I got a quote for vinyl flooring with skirting amd sealant and self-leveling, but it's too far above my budget. I'm willing to do laminate and see what's the best quote I can get. I wanted sealant because there seems to be water coming in, but we've sealed the roof and the courtyards where there's water build up during rain.
