My husband and I hired Mr Barnard, because he had the best references and presented the best quote for our garden paving project. And we're very glad to have found him among your recommended providers because he's a warm person and also a true professional. He visited our home and took a lot of time to present good solutions. Thanks again for your great work! Also a big thank you to the Procompare team.
Thanks for your help! All five garden paving providers that you recommended contacted me in 2 days after my request, so I was really surprised by their fast response. I'm very satisfied with the selected company so I'll definitely use your site again!
You did an excellent job helping us find a garden paving company from our city! We contacted a few ourselves but the quotes we received from your companies were far better! Our project is still in progress, so I can't give you my final opinion, but so far, the project is going smoothly!
If paving isn’t properly done, the paved area may sag in certain areas as layers beneath the surface of the earth shift and organic material in topsoil deteriorates over time. Another thing that might happen is that the paving blocks or slabs may break due to the weight on top of the paving, use a car for example, isn’t distributed throughout the layers beneath the paving.
Working out how much you need is very straightforward as block paving is bought by area rather than per block. Calculate the block paving you need by multiplying the length of the space by the width. This will give you the area for paving in square meters.
That depends on the type of pavement: sand grouted paving installations can be used immediately after grouting while cement grouted installations should not be trafficked for seven to ten days after installation.
Concreting and paving can both make big differences to your space. They each come with their own sets of pros and cons, so your decision shouldn’t be based on price alone. Standard concrete slabs are generally cheaper per square meter; however, the long term costs for repairs and replacements often exceed the initial savings in upfront costs.
You can’t lay pavers directly on dirt, so there’s a little more to the job than simply laying some stones onto the ground. Preparing the ground properly will prevent sinks and cracks from appearing in the surfaces later on, and it will also prevent the growth of weeds between the pavers. Prep-work for paving usually involves measuring the area to be paved and laying out a thin layer of road base evenly over the entire area (this can be done with a shovel or a levelling rake). After this, the surface is dampened with water and – with the help of a plate compactor – is compacted to a depth of about 10mm. Once this has been completed, sand can be laid and leveled over the surface and the area is ready to be paved.
Unlike many other driveway applications, such as asphalt or concrete, once the pavers are compacted and sanded, you can immediately drive on them. Asphalt and concrete have to set and cure before you can use them.

We are looking for a trustworthy gardener for the general maintenance of our garden: mowing the lawn, cutting hedges, removing leaves, etc. This would be necessary either every 2 weeks or once a month. But there are also time periods when we are not at home: then a weekly service would be required, including watering the plants. Please whatsapp me on this number.
Hi there, Our lovely garden in Craighall Park has been badly damaged by a tenant's dogs, and they've let the weeds grow wild. The tenants will be leaving at the end of March, and going forward with whoever moves in, we'd like to include a weekly or bi-weekly garden service in with the rent. Please could you advise on what this might cost? We will also need an initial once-off replant and clean up, to fix the edges of the flowerbeds, pull out weeds (including mulberry saplings which are terrible to try and dig out) and replant with very hardly water-wise plants such as white wild iris and wild garlic that will bounce back fast after hail, and survive better with negligent tenants. Please also let us know if you could quote on this? Thanks so much,
Hi, I live in a complex with a garden that consist only out of grass. I need a gardening service that can help with initial clean-up of relatively maintained garden and then to help with lawn weed control, especially in the back garden, and lawn-mowing and general maintenance of the garden/lawn. I don't think it will be necessary to come in every week. Maybe just for the 1st month to get everything under control and thereafter every 2 weeks. Please can you contact me with more detail and you pricing plan. Thank you.

Would you dig trenches and mulch them for sweet peas .cut down illegal little trees branches popping up from neighbours yard especially than awful bug weed I like my lawn relatively free for dogs and grandchildren to play Also I'm a pensioner..with a spinal fusion on my lower back there fore would be able to help much...no car either 2 do the shopping..but I can come with you to buy whatever.
Constant weed growth, barely any healthy grass growth. We not expecting the best of the best grass but decent installation/ planting, neatening up and thereafter a constant weekly / monthly maintenance services from your company. The worst section is the lawn infront of our house just over our boundary wall on both sides. My sqm may be less than . I'm unsure. But a quote will be sufficient. Please let me know quoting fees and call out fees in advance please.
Good morning, Hope you are well. We are looking for a landscaper to redo our garden in Paarl. We have a preliminary idea of the garden, please see below. image.png 1. The is currently a palisade fence and we require a solution for privacy, but it cannot be a permanent structure such as a wall due to estate rules. Maybe a decorative privacy screen. 2. We would like a build in L-shape concrete bench that should be painted approximately 3m each side. 3. A workbench for prepping space & pizza oven ( should be 1.1m deep and 1.6m wide) 4. A wall water feature with Moroccan tile that should be approximately 1.8m (L) x 1.5m (H). Between the workbench and the water feature there should be some plants. 5. Area 5 should be built in concrete, painted planter boxes with landscaping 6. Area 6 should be soft landscaping with no permanent structures.- Sunny area 7. We require a solution for ground covering e.g pavers with greenage in between. In front of the bench there should be a rectangular built-in fire pit. Total area +- 21m2 8. Walkway with pavers and chipstone leading to the garden (Total area +- 5m2) 9. We currently have 3 large cypress trees and require soft landscaping in between. This area is full shade. According to estate rules we cannot make any changes to the estate wall, so all structures (bench, water feature and planter boxes) cannot be connected to the wall. Please find attached some ideas for the look and feel. Will you please assist with a budget quote? Then after a consultation we can firm up pricing for possible order placement. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind regards
Hi, I have plants in my garden that have been moved around over the years but I just cannot seem to get it to an appealing appearance. I require a permanent, timeless design & do not mind if I have to uproot ALL my plants to different areas in my garden. My front yard is full sun, no trees & my backyard receives morning sun & partial afternoon shade. I want to move pavers to the backyard & transplant the lawn to the front yard. I have rocks, garden ornaments & large empty pots for plants. Please help.
Good day. I am guessing the size, but it is the garden on the roof of our building that needs to be moved across in sections (as long as the building can take the weight) for a waterproofer to fix the leak in our roof caused by a cracked slab.
