When do I need a building permit in South Africa?
In South Africa, building applications for the construction of property and land use are highly regulated.

My idea is to have a double story building with a swimming pool, a few bedrooms (some with ensuite), open plan kitchen and dining area. I am also looking for solar integrated into the plan.The stand size is square meter's.

Good day, Our front and back yard are bricks currently. Front: We want to keep the drive-way and remove the rest of the bricks. On the left side of the front yard we want to do a parking spot of nice big pavers. The between the (2) driveways the left and right side one we wan to do a bit of gras with one nice tree. And a little plants. And some plants under the window in front. A walk way next to the right side drive way that carries all the way along side the house to the back of the garden. We don't want to over garden as this house was brought to fix up and re-sell. But the landscaping really needs a little boost. Back: We are extending the braai room about a meter back and 2 meters longer than it currently is. We want grass around the braai room with a nice wall way. We brough a beautiful rustic old fire pit. Under that we want some nice pavers. We have the chairs that goes with the fire pit as well. And then just a little plants at the back as well for a bit of charm. Please note: We just brought the house so the condition currently is not to great. We want to warm up the landscaping but do not want to over invest as this will be a fixer upper. 14 meters by 4 meters (56 square meters) in size. It is going to be a vibracrete house on a back yard property. The 14 meter front wall will have 5 windows & 14 meter back wall will have two fixed windows with the main door. Both 14 meter walls will be 1 meter away from neighbors boundary walls. So "No Objection Forms " will be necessary, but not a problem because of good neighbors. I want to do it within Building Code Planning Regulations.
I would like to build residential units of bachelor flats, one bedroom and two bedrooms in Bethanie for the miners and low-to-medium earning workers around there. Total units should be 16 on the property purchased. Units must include basic facility needs such as a toilet/bathroom in each. The least amount of space should be used to construct each unit, with parking and a lapa/play area facility on the premises.

Good day, I am working on a building project and wanted to find out how many 1-bedroom units can be built on land approximately 1 .58 square meters big. This includes parking and enough space to avoid clutter. The building can also be 2 stories high. Also, roughly how much would the entire project cost?
