After cleaning the surfaces, verify the dectivity and if necessary fix it in order to avoid water stagnation. Lastly, prepare the surface (the preparation process will depend on the type of surface).

• How long can waterproofing last?

  A properly installed waterproofing system should last you anytime between 10 and 15 years. On the contrary, a poorly installed waterproofing system can cause water leakages almost immediately after it meets water, avoid such waterproofing mistakes. Roof waterproofing can last longer, especially torch on waterproofing.

• Can you repair waterproofing?

  Depending on the extent of damage on your waterproofing membrane and the age of it, you can choose between simple patches or a complete replacement.

• Do I have to waterproof the balcony before tiling?

  Yes, waterproofing should be snow before you lay your tiles.

• How do I fix waterproofing on my balcony if the tiles are already laid?

  If the waterproofing system has failed, it is recommended that the tiles be removed in order to start the waterproofing and tiling process from scratch. While it is possible to waterproof and tile over existing tiles - provided the existing tiles are in good condition and firmly attached to the substrate - where tiles are cracked, loose or hollow sounding, or where the level of the current floor does not allow for a height increase, tiles will need to be removed and replaced.
