Before starting to build a house, you must have: a site plan, layout drawings, a fire installation drawing, drainage installation drawings, particulars of any existing building or structure that is going to be demolished (and you need to state how it will be demolished), and any other plans and particulars that your local authority requires.
NHBRC is the National Home Builder's Registration Council. Its function are to keep a register of home builders, oversee the construction of residential homes to see to it that proper building standards are adhered to and to provide a warranty service for major structural defects. Any new build in SA requires you to have NHBRC registration.
The construction contract should include at least: the name of the contractor and contact information, the name of the homeowner and contact information, description of property in legal terms, the cost, description of the work, the completion date and the right to stop the project.

Hi, I am looking to remodel my Kitchen to a more mordern look and feel. Option one would be to remove exesting cupboards and install new design and look. Option 2 - Remove existing cupboards, small extension of kitchen approximatley a meter out from the window boundary line of kitchen. Then install new kistchen cupboards.
I have dampness on two external walls in my downstairs bedroom and the wall of my garage. In the bedroom, the paint is bubbling and there is white powder (salts) on the bottom 50cm of the wall. I would like to install a sliding door in one of the bedrooms of my townhouse that leads into the yard. The wall is a boundary wall so I think it is double brick. I have already purchased the sliding door. It's dimensions are 1.8m x 2.05m There is an electrical plug against the wall so that needs to be moved in accordance with electrical compliance. I have attached a picture of the room. It is the wall that is on the right infrokt of the cupboards. I would like to understand what you gaurentees are like and if you will provide the relevant electrical compliance certificate for moving the plug
