Why do I need a pool fence?

If however, your property is enclosed with a wall or fence of 1,2m or higher, and your gate to the road access is locked, then the height of your pool fence can be 1m. The regulations also provide that any owner who fails to comply with this requirement shall be guilty of an offence. Additionally, a home owner can also be sued for negligence should someone drown in their swimming pool, depending on whether negligence was present.
