However, I never resigned from Blue Ion, so I ended up working for both companies during that period. This also meant that I had two medical aids running at the same time, Discovery through Blue Ion and Momentum through Outsurance, as both were employment benefits. Outsurance also offered a provident fund, whereas I didn’t have one through Blue Ion. I eventually resigned from Outsurance and went back to working only for Blue Ion. So, I’m thinking there may be some misalignment or discrepancies in my tax information because of the overlapping employment, medical aid contributions, and provident fund. This could possibly be why SARS didn’t automatically assess me this year as they normally do.
