I recently filed my return and received an original assessment that I believe was correct. I then submitted a change because I thought my medical aid amount was incorrect. SARS requested supporting certificates, which I supplied, and the verification was finalised without changes. Afterwards, an additional assessment was issued that now reflects an amount payable. As the underlying information and documents have not changed, I request that SARS reinstate the original assessment outcome (the refund) or provide the specific basis for the additional assessment.
I require assistance with responding to the attached letter from SARS regarding my tax residency status. I emigrated from South Africa in , and gave up my tax residency then, however all of this was handled by tax consultants at the time. I’ve received this letter would like advice and assistance in providing a response, please.

I am usually auto assessed by SARS, but was retrenched last year. Started working again in Jan . Problem is my current employer deducted tax and uif, but on request he said there is no IRP5 for Jan and Febr as the "auditors" only registered me in March , he wanted to give the money back to me, I refused. I had confirmation cc is not even registered for workman compansation. I suspect tax is still not even paid over to SARS. I need assistance with efiing/ Sars and possibility that cc must be reported with SARS & workman compensation.
