Hi, I’m currently obtaining several quotations for a residential solar and battery system for our home in Glencairn. I will compare the proposed system design, equipment, expandability and total installed cost before selecting an installer. This will be the first stage of a longer-term project. Our aim is to gradually reduce our reliance on the grid and potentially become fully off-grid in the future. Expandability and long-term system design are therefore important to me. For the initial installation, I’m considering: - Deye 8 kW single-phase hybrid inverter, or a comparable high-quality alternative - Approximately 4.5–5 kWp of solar panels - Approximately 10 kWh of LiFePO4 battery storage - Full-black solar panels preferred - Grid-connected with City of Cape Town - System should be capable of future feed-in/export - Initial backup for essential loads, with the possibility of moving towards whole-house backup later Our current electricity consumption is approximately kWh per month. There is sufficient roof space. The main roof has approximately ENE and WSW-facing sections, so I would like the PV layout and MPPT configuration to take both orientations into account. The inverter and batteries can be installed in the garage. The main DB is located in the kitchen. Good morning, My name is , and I urgently need legal assistance and advice regarding the following matter: On 2 July , we purchased a Audi Q7 3.0 TDI V6 Quattro Tiptronic from GoBid. The car was bought with , km on the odometer and without any service record. We subsequently sold the car on 17 January . However, on the day the new buyer purchased the vehicle from us, he was involved in an accident while en route to Cape Town; he struck an antelope, causing damage (I am not sure if he had this repaired). Now, six months after the purchase, the buyer has contacted me with a service history he obtained from the dealer for this car, which indicates that the last service was performed at , km. It is evident that the car's mileage had been rolled back either before or while it was in GoBid's possession. The buyer now wants to return the vehicle and get his money back. How should we handle this, given that the fault did not originate with us and we had no knowledge regarding the actual mileage? Furthermore, he used the vehicle for six months and was involved in an accident with it. We have already contacted GoBid; their terms and conditions protect them, stating that cars are bought "as is" and that there are no warranties on auction vehicles.
