I was issued with a warrant for verbal abuse last year....which almost landed me in Westville prison for the contravention of a protection order....I've suffered for 6 months out of my the house we agreed on together in it's purchase state....on the 3rd of January this year I appeared in front of a judge who endorsed this order for a physical act I committed 17 year's ago.....I smacked her across her face and her eyes swelled and her lips bust....she deliberately provoked me to a state I responded in a vulgar manner and then slapped her across her face....for saying humiliating stuff like I'm useless, not a good father...etc. exchanging vulgar speeches....so in a nutshell....she has a protection order against me.....she dropped the contravention order that was issued and she agreed to an uncontested divorce....I'm back at home since and she's become ever so rebellious and blaming me for literally everything she fails to comply with in a marriage....she constantly uses this protection order against me and refuses to stand up to the divorce....now when I mention the proposed way forward she unleashes tantrums and openly condemns me...saying stuff like....oh this is my money and when I'm finished you'll get nothing and end up on the street.....please assist me...I feel that I'm fighting a losing battle...
The father of my child hasn't been involved in our childs life or providing support. He has suggested signing over his parental rights and removing his name from the birth certificate, essentially stating that he doesn't want to be involved with our child. As a result, I would like to pursue full custody of my child and have his name removed from the birth certificate.
I am currently in the middle of a contested divorce that has unfortunately been dragging on since March . I already have legal representation, but I am not satisfied with the service provided there has been a lack of communication, several delays, and ongoing uncertainty about the progress of my case. To date, a settlement agreement has been drafted, and I was advised that it had been shared with the other party. However, I have received no further feedback from my current attorney regarding whether the settlement was accepted, or if a court date is required to proceed further. I have had to do all the follow-up myself, and despite repeated requests for clarity, no proper updates have been provided. At this point, I am exploring the option of appointing a new attorney who can assist in moving this matter forward with urgency.
