How long does an architectural project typically last?
Let's go over the timeline for the construction of a new family home.
We currently have a large bathroom adjacent to the main bedroom. We would like to split the bathroom in 2,creating an en suite to the main bathroom and an additional full guest bathroom. Bedroom flooring and cupboards would need to change. And eventually all flooring and cupboards in the other bedrooms as well. Very much looking into cretestone style bathrooms. Same style for both bathrooms. Walk in showers. A wall would need to be built in the bathroom to create 2 bathrooms and the adjacent wall needs to be opened up between the cupboards in the bedroom to create the en suite.
It is a 4 bedroom house, lounge, sitting room, kitchen, storage, two bathrooms and two garages already built up. There're no ceiling and no tiling on the floor. The bathrooms are poorly done and put in showers and geyser, redo water connections. No kitchen cupboards/built-ins. No water connections in the kitchen. No skirting around the house and the drive way needs to be done. No guttering. I bought a piece of land on a cliff. 20x25m² half the stand has been cleared. I need the rest of the place leveled to prepare the foundation. The place is in an informal settlement. With rocks aligned on the cliff. I need it dug up. The i used to level. I have a budget of around R5-10k with the right equipment. It's a 1day job. We will want to build a single property - duplex - One will be the main home and the other for rental. The plot is slightly elevated we would like to go double storey. Land size is sqm - in the village of St Francis - we will be space conscious - ( we have a small apartment in the Netherlands ) so we don’t need expansive or expensive - just good quality.
