We have a room built against a hill, which means that there is soil directly against half the height of one wall. When it rains, water in the soil seeps down and through the wall, damaging the carpet and the paintwork in the room. We have a french drain that overflows with all the rain. Had it pumped out but didn’t help. Can connect to main sewerage system but have to pump it upwards. We would like to look at other options..maybe install a watertank that can collect the water from the washing machine and water used in doggy parlour in flat at the back of the house.
