My husband wants a divorce after 20 years. He went to see a lawyer in St Francis Bay, where he has lived and worked for the past 3 years. I believe that with marriage counselling, this marriage has a chance to survive this storm. I need to consult someone who does not think divorce is the only option.
Do you have experience handling contested divorces involving asset dissipation, pension offsets, and cross-border property issues?“I was granted South African permanent residence in May based on a genuine marriage. If I institute divorce proceedings now, is there any legal basis under the Immigration Act for my PR to be revoked?

We are students currently holding South African study permits, and we would like to change our status to work permits. We are based in Pretoria and would appreciate guidance on which type of work visa is most appropriate for our situation, the specific eligibility requirements (including documents, employer involvement, salary thresholds, and other conditions), as well as the expected processing timelines. Because we are unable to return to our home country to submit the applications, we would also like to request information on the waiver process, including whether it applies to our cases and what supporting documentation is required. Additionally, please provide details regarding your service fees and any other costs related to the visa or waiver application process. Our objective is to ensure that we maintain valid legal status in South Africa throughout the transition.

My grandsons dad has not physically been there for the child. He started paying R for a few months, but skipped whenever he felt like it. Now he has completely stopped. My grandson is now 3 years old, and doesn't know his dad. He has other two children which he fully supports, and told my daughter she can take him to court since knows what to expect and is not afraid. He has a very good job. My husband and I have been supporting the child ever since he was born, as my daughter fell pregnant while she was studying and dropped her studies, since he did not support her at all. The child is at creche, and his dad has never given as much as a birthday or Xmas gift. Regardless of him not being there, I still sent him pictures of my grandson. But this is really not fair.
An final court order to end the divorce had been issued without my knowledge. Part of this order was that the Plaintiff would be granted half 50% of my living annuity held and managed by Ninety One. This can not be done according to changed legislation, which excludes living annuities from pension issues in the event of a divorce.
