I'm in the process of accepting a proposal for work in SA. I have SA and UK passports. Currently based in the UK. Moving to Cape Town. Attempting to prepare/research my options to offset a R2,,.00 annual salary. If permanently employed, It seems that I will pay roughly 50% income tax on this 2 million rand salary, according to existing bank calculators. I may have the option to engage as a consultant rather than permanent employment to offset taxes. However, I'm also aware that a permanent salary will include, pension, private medical cover and additional benefits. I would like advice regarding options in order to make an informed decision. Is anyone able to assist? Kind regards, .
My wife and I are about to enter SA on Temporary Retirement and Spousal Visas. We will spend less than days per year in SA with our daughters and grandchildren. We are retired and are not required to submit tax returns in the UK - we receive an automatic Annual Tax Calculation based on our pension incomes. We qualify for Certificates of Residence in the UK. We have been advised that we must undertake a "Tie Breaker Test" with a SA tax consultant in order to be deemed as not being required to submit SA tax returns. Are you able to provide this service in Cape Town ?
