Before deciding on a gate, you should think about the style of your home exterior, about the type of the door that will suit you best (sliding or swing gates), about the property size (so you can choose the right size), about maintenance you are willing to do and, lastly, about your budget.
The driveway gate should be a little wider than your driveway entrance. Use a tape measure, and measure your driveway. Use a smaller single gate for a straight driveway. Use a wider double gate if you have curves on your driveway.
It is usual for gates to open inwards. In some cases, it is even illegal for gates to open outwards, into public property.
When choosing a material for your home gates, take into consideration appearance, difficulty of maintenance, security and of course price of the gates. Wooden gates are beautiful, but more difficult to maintain than say steel or metal gates. For mainly security reasons, choose palisade gates.
Make sure your gates are clean of dirt and possible mold. Most gates are given a layer of protection but it can erode in time due to weather and UV rays, so will need to be replenished at regular intervals. We recommend you repaint your gates every few years and apply protective oil.

This job is to replace an existing wooden gate that has perished. Pictures are attached. Measurements of the gate itself are 79.5cm x cm to the frame. The frame needs to be replaced too.
