About:
Request a quoteJust want to say how pleased we were with Bright(Brian?) and his team yesterday. His work ethics, swiftness and efficiency was so professional! I can recommend him to anyone.
They were the only people to respond to me by phone or email. Bright was very helpful and responded quickly with a really good price. Ben came and did the job on the agreed day in good time, did beautiful work and left the area neat and tidy. We asked them to come back again for another slightly bigger job and they did the same great quality work.
Services:
Request a quoteI had an amazing experience with this building contractor for my renovation project! They were super professional and really friendly, making the whole process a pleasure. Their flexibility and accommodating nature helped us adapt to changes easily. The customer service was top-notch, always there to answer my questions. Not to mention, the quality of work is absolutely stellar! If you're looking for high-quality renovations, look no further!
Services:
Request a quoteI was honestly blown away by how sturdy the new solid-roof carport came out. The price felt totally fair for the quality, proper value for money in my book. Every interaction with the crew was friendly and prompt; they answered calls and kept me updated the whole time. The workmanship is spotless and they finished early, way beyond what I’d expected. high-quality job all round.
About:

Services:
Request a quoteThey were always on site when they said they would be. Grass installation and wooden trellis installation was very good. Edging was done by one of their sub-contractors but was also good.
I found the contractor did not 'hear' me. There was tension on site as he arrived the same day as the building contracts - partly our fault, but I did ask him to start two weeks later prior to him arriving on site. Marx had tendered for the entire job but only got the landscaping part of the job and not the building part. I felt he should have advised us that he could only start, and perhaps even plan, his part of the job once the building was complete. I certainly don't feel that the has a good knowledge of plants. One of our beds 1m x 3m has been planted with 4 Christmas Rose bushes (initially 5) amongst other plants. Very disappointed in the flower aspect of the job. The extras that were done (or changes made) were simply invoiced (at crazy rates) and no discussion was held before hand. I have learnt a lot from this project. There are landscapers and then grass installers. Marx is definitely not a landscaper!
Everything was nicely done, good and professional service.
They could've been better with their staff because we ended up having a small leak but they did come back and fix it.
Services:
Request a quoteI have no positive experience, all is negative.
The Owner could not take proper measurements. He came three times to get proper measurements and drawing of a sketch, he had to get his friend to help.

Frequently asked questions
-
What are some of the dangers of unprofessional garden paving?
If paving isn’t properly done, the paved area may sag in certain areas as layers beneath the surface of the earth shift and organic material in topsoil deteriorates over time. Another thing that might happen is that the paving blocks or slabs may break due to the weight on top of the paving, use a car for example, isn’t distributed throughout the layers beneath the paving.
-
How much block pavers do I need?
Working out how much you need is very straightforward as block paving is bought by area rather than per block. Calculate the block paving you need by multiplying the length of the space by the width. This will give you the area for paving in square meters.
-
Can I walk on paving immediately after it’s been paved?
That depends on the type of pavement: sand grouted paving installations can be used immediately after grouting while cement grouted installations should not be trafficked for seven to ten days after installation.
-
Is it cheaper to concrete or to pave your driveway?
Concreting and paving can both make big differences to your space. They each come with their own sets of pros and cons, so your decision shouldn’t be based on price alone. Standard concrete slabs are generally cheaper per square meter; however, the long term costs for repairs and replacements often exceed the initial savings in upfront costs.
-
How to prepare the ground for paving?
You can’t lay pavers directly on dirt, so there’s a little more to the job than simply laying some stones onto the ground. Preparing the ground properly will prevent sinks and cracks from appearing in the surfaces later on, and it will also prevent the growth of weeds between the pavers. Prep-work for paving usually involves measuring the area to be paved and laying out a thin layer of road base evenly over the entire area (this can be done with a shovel or a levelling rake). After this, the surface is dampened with water and – with the help of a plate compactor – is compacted to a depth of about 10mm. Once this has been completed, sand can be laid and leveled over the surface and the area is ready to be paved.
-
How long do I have to wait before I can drive on a paved road?
Unlike many other driveway applications, such as asphalt or concrete, once the pavers are compacted and sanded, you can immediately drive on them. Asphalt and concrete have to set and cure before you can use them.

Update/makeover
We rent our freestanding home with garden. It has not been watered and much in the garden has died. There are mature trees throwing lots of shade. The soil type is naturally clay, but the beds have been enriched previously. I only want hardy waterwise plants. The small lawn needs replacement (in shade a good deal of the day). The gravel parking areas alongside the drive need weed killing. An overgrown ornamental vine trellis needs a strong prune. And beyond that, some general flower bed neatening.

Update/makeover
I have a courtyard area around my pool that I want someone to come check and let me know what is possible and what would look nice as the area is quite narrow. I already have a pretty good idea of what I am looking for. I am quite interested in vertical gardening and need someone to advise.
