We are seeking consultation and assistance from a reliable and affordable attorney regarding a tragic incident that occurred last year. Our father, who was 59 years old at the time, was working in a temporary position at the request of his supervisor, as the regular employee was on leave. Unfortunately, during a night shift in June, he fell into a machine, resulting in a fatal accident. Despite the devastating impact on our family, the company has shown no sympathy or taken any responsibility for their actions, leaving us without justice for our loss. Notably, our father was nearing retirement age and had planned to leave the workforce this year. We believe that the company's negligence and lack of accountability have caused significant pain and suffering, and we are seeking legal guidance to explore our options for seeking compensation and holding those responsible accountable.

Hi, I came to Mexico for a few months to visit my partner. I got pregnant and I am wondering if I cant get the MATB1 certificate from here somehow? I work for a UK-based company remotely as a software engineer and I pay all my taxes and NHS to the UK via payroll. I have been working for this company for over a year now. My due date is November but I was not planning to return to the UK in the 20th week (which is the earliest for me to get the MATB1 certificate), due to concerns about my pregnancy. I know I am eligible for the maternity leave & pay, I'm just concerned about the ceritifcate and how I can get all the way from here? Thanks

My employer is currently deducting money from my salary without a hearing and no consent from me. A commissioner advised me to withdraw my case on the sanction that was handed without a hearing, because it was already expired by the time. It would be senseless to overturn the original sanction of "Final Written Warning" to a warning. The employer imposed another sanction of remunerating for damages and the commissioner ruled that they can't deduct any moneys from me as I already served a sanction. He ruled that is double jeopardy. He advised to file for "Unfair Deductions", but they went on with punishing me. Their stance is because I follow the advise of the commisioner by withdrawing my case. Can someone please help me?

We are 80 employees who are seeking legal labour law representation. We are employed by South African Maritime Safety Authority, Marine Special Projects (SAMSA MSP). We are working on Patrol and Research Vessels for the South African Government. The Company we are employed by is an Agency, a division of SAMSA who is a South African Government entity. We have been working onboard these ships since .We sign three years contracts in succession, one after the other, without the prospects of permanency, without provident/pension fund, without medical aid, without any sort of benefits associated with being permanent employees. When you reach 65 years of age, you retire with nothing but your last months salary. We pay tax to SARS, UIF is deducted and only recently a discrepancy was discovered whereby our overtime rate had been at 1,25 for the last 9 years, instead of it being 1,50. Our tax code was changed many years ago, resembling office workers, when we are in fact Seafarers who are working locally, on South African ships, for the South African Government, sailing in South African waters. We feel that our labour law rights are being infringed upon by our Company and the matters of dispute can only be cleared up by going the legal route.

I need help with a referral to the SSSBC because it seems if the SAPU representative didn't want to help me everywhere I go it seems or feel like a dead end. I am working for the SAPS as a civilian and in my Lt Col didn't want to sign my PEP and therefore I didn't receive my 1.5% pay progression. I get the feeling our HR sits behind the thing of no one's want to help me

Then from no where the senior manager jumped over my neck from the back side straining my back and neck trying to get the phone hurting my thumb also and then eventually the phone locked and she let go . Could not attend work the following day stiff neck and sore thumb the Wednesday visited doc and was given an additional 3 days sick leave with a doc note just want to find out what is the way forward
