How to prepare your house for interior painting
Let's go over the steps you can take to prepare your home for a painting project
we have been renovating some of the house over the last couple of years, but we are looking to upgrade so that we can sell the house for more. upgrading includes a full renovation of the kitchen and scullery area, upgrading two bathrooms, replacing all the window frames and flooring, skirtings, fireplace, painting and stiling the 5 bedroom house.
plumbing a bathroom needs to be done over as it is an old steel bath where plumbing is not in wall but on the wall. tiles also need to be replaced. it will be a bath with a shower overhead, basin also be replaced. garage roof also needs to be done over the wooden strip on wall against which sheeting is mounted is rotting badly so whole roof needs to be done with most of the frame still being in excellent condition. poor waterproofing caused the rot. one face board on the main home also needs to be replaced. possibly would like the wall in front of home removed and replaced with solid sliding steel gate as well. this gate will be manual not motor based
1 Main bedroom (3 walls and 1 wall with window). 3 standard bedrooms (2 walls, 1 wall with window and 1 with wardrobes). Passage both sides. Living room (3 walls and one with sliding door). Reception room (3 walls and one with double window). Dining room (3 walls and 1 with window). Study room the size of a single garage (3 walls and 1 with window). Ceilings fir all those rooms. Ceiling needs some fixing. I need an estimate quote. Most of the walls are currently Grey and need to paint them cream or a homely color. Need quote to include the cost of the paint.
It's a small room about 2.7m x 3.2m that requires remodelling for the use of a Tanning/collogan Studio. Work required: *Need the existing window replaced with a door to enable access from outside. *Old aircon removed and wall filled *flooring *lighting *electrical works (including surge protection) *dry wall partition *solar or generator installation
I need to redo a bedroom into an office and lounge space. I would need the removal of old doors to be replaced with new doors and the removal of cupboard doors and replacement with new. The skirting of the room needs to be sanded and old paint on them removed and restained. Walls need to be painted including accent walls. Built in cupboard needs to be redone. Shelving needs to be designed and installed.
We are moving into a rented house, which we may decide to buy and renovate later. Initially we would like a quote for doing some restoration/repair work and a thorough repainting of the main downstairs rooms as well as the 3 bedrooms upstairs - we will have occupancy from 1st of Feb but will be allowed access before that to complete the work. This is for my mum, I am doing this project on behalf of her, I require quotes to compare and make an informed decision on which avenue to go with.
Plans were submitted and approved. An engineer has been appointed. Want to remodel (break down 2 walls and refurbish existing bathroom) sub economic house and add an upper level consisting of a bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a pyjama lounge. The plan is to use nutec/timber on the upper level and a conservatory on the ground floor level. Please see attached plan.
Repair - maintenance. Roof room was built 30 years ago by Adrian Greylling and is generally in very good condition . We have been very happy with room. However the outer layer of the sheets of wooden material used for the walls, is crumbling in small sections - facing into the weather Would like to assess repair before Cape winter
Additional 3 bedroom on the double garage side. Double garage is 6× 6.5m extend for bedroom of 3.6×3.6 & bathroom with wardrobe of 4.5×2.2. On the floor will be a main en-suite plus open kitchen living room area plus a guest toilet 2×3m. Then upstairs will be a 2 bedroom each 4×5m Sharing a full bathroom of 3×3.5 and extra toilet of 2×3 & the extra 2×3m space will be for entrance upstairs.
