I am travelling to SA on 28 May with my wife. We are planning on staying for 4 days to celebrate ny father-in-law's 90th birthday. We have dual citizenship, SA and Ireland. Our SA passports expired and are currently in the possession of the SA Embassy in Dublin and the Dept of Home Affairs in SA. We were planning on travelling to SA using our Irish passports but have been told that this is not permitted. I have a letter from the SA Embassy stating that our SA passports are in their possession, for renewal, and are not expected to be back from SA for months to come yet.
