The owner or person that responded is Fili Milagry Lamena from Minefil Construction. He was asked to do a slab as I was looking for a roofing contractor. He took a deposit of R 33 000 and brought some of the form-work to site for the work. After which, he never came back. He is saying that he will refund part of the money but it has now been over two weeks and he keeps delaying. He then told me that he got his family to do the reviews for him and that there is no recourse with Procompare. Since he pays to stay on the portal, Procompare will not remove him. He is very untrustworthy and I am sorry to say this but he is an absolute thief. I can't understand how you would allow someone like that on the portal. I have Since had to look for another contractor. Minefil Construction has promised to refund me R 13 300 but he has yet to do so.
I don’t have a good experience, all what Fili the owner wanted was to take money from me , a month since the contract started he took 65% of the quoted amount though he gave me 4 months project plan but was already out of money to can start with the roof yet I had paid him full amount he quoted for the roof
He terminated the contract because he doesn’t have money to buy all material needed for the roof yet I paid him the full amount for the roof . He now claims I owe him yet he took my R207 000 and had not rooted my house , I am now buying more material and paying for labour using different people
Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we respect all our clients' opinions, we must address the inaccuracies in your statement to ensure clarity and transparency regarding the situation: First and foremost, we made every effort to resolve this matter amicably; however, the client refused to comply with the terms of the contract. It is important to note that if we had misused funds or acted improperly, we would not be pursuing legal action. All actions taken on this project were in accordance with the agreed terms, and we have documented evidence to support this. 1. Project Termination: The contract was not terminated due to financial issues on our part. It was terminated because the client breached the agreement by unlawfully appointing a third-party project manager who created a hostile work environment for our team, including swearing at our employees. 2. Payment and Budget: The client began putting unnecessary pressure on the project just two days after commencement, despite work being done within the agreed timeframe. It is worth noting that the project was over 70% complete at the time of termination, with all funds and materials fully documented. 3. Progress and Materials: At the time of termination, the project was progressing as scheduled, and all funds received were used appropriately for the agreed scope of work. All materials and expenses have been fully documented, demonstrating that every payment made was applied per the contract. 4. Additional Breach of Contract: The client also breached the agreement by refusing to pay for materials as per the terms of the contract, despite initially agreeing to this arrangement. This further hindered our ability to proceed with the project as planned. 5. Defamation and Legal Action: False claims about the misuse of funds and project delays harm our reputation. As a result, we are pursuing legal action for defamation and the recovery of outstanding balances owed to us. We value professionalism and transparency in all our projects, and our documentation provides evidence of compliance with the terms of the contract. We regret that this situation arose and remain committed to resolving this matter through the appropriate legal channels.
