How to choose a painter
The quality of your outcome will only be as good as the contractor you enlist for the project
We are first time home owners and need to get quotes to build our house. The ERF is in Village on sea (Estate in Mossel Bay). We would like the house to have an industrial finish inside with 50% of the walls plastered and painted,25% just plastered and sealed and the other 25% exposed brick(Bagging). The doors and windows we would like to be Charcoal Aluminum. Wooden Front door and White doors inside. The outside we would like to be plastered and painted and the natural stone work indicated on the plan we would like to be just exposed brick. The roof needs to have gutters to comply with the estates rules.
We have a current patio area but it is not ideal for a proper patio set and braai. We would like a complete patio with a built in braai section. We need a basin and storage space for wood ect. The patio will be divided in 2 areas; a patio set area to seat 6-8 people and then the braai area which can accommodate 4-6 people. The roof needs to be closed with a wooden finish. I am attaching current images of the patio as well as pinterest images as samples.
An existing house has 3 small bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a small kitchen and a lounge. We need to extend all 3 bedrooms, kitchen and lounge, add a dining room, a study, a laundry room, a small patio/Braai area and a double garage. The size of the house should at least be - square meters. Or build a new house on another piece of land: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge, dining, kitchen, study, laundry room, Patio/Braai area and a double garage. The house is already constructed. There is no finishing, no tiling, no ceiling, no electrical wiring its basically empty it's just an empty box. There is a double garage door, but there is no motor, no windows no doors, no painting, and no plumbing. I need a building company to do the finishing. Please feel free to contact me for more info. I've already sourced 80% of the Material and only require labour. the following is required: - Foundation and brickwork - Plaster - Plumbing. The roof is asbestos. Remove existing paint-prep surfaces of walls and ceiling. Total size about 50m2. Size estimates: Wall1: cm x cm = 12.1 m2 Wall2: +- cm x cm (inc door/window post) = 4.3 m2 Wall3: cm x = 8.6 m2 Wall4: cm x cm = 3.5 m2 Wall5: cm x cm = 4.3 m2 Ceiling: xcm + xcm = +- 17.2 m2 We are looking to have this work completed before the end of April.
The idea for the house which we will use at retirement in a few years time would be as follows: --80--90m2 max total interior floor area. Ideally the house should face North to take advantage to the light and perhaps a bit of the mountain view. --3 bedrooms (one of which must be on ground floor should the design be for a two storey building to accommodate us should we not be able to access the second floor (due to old age, for example). --2 bathrooms --To be added in another phase perhaps: a garage (for one vehicle, but with additional space for a laundry and tiny workshop area). Hi, I am looking for a quote to paint out my house and garage as well as the roof. The house has a brick bottom and the top section of the house needs painting. The roof is a zink roof on both the garage and house. The house is a pitched roof and the garage is a flat roof. Would the colour of the paint make a difference as I would like to paint the house a charcoal colour with white trim (windows)? Look forward to hearing from you.
