Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
I would like tuscan style double storey house. 4-garages Ground floor - kitchen, guest toilet, entrance, dining room, lounge, bar leading out to balcony with built in braai. 1st floor - 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (1 en suite). Main bedroom above lounge/bar (with balcony overlooking pool). Pool
We want to build an entertainment area.
Join garage to main house to use space as dining room with fireplace. Change single garage to double garage or atleast easy parking access freely next to it, patio to open up living area, yard change and paving and uplift of home,lastly then interior for whole house after all suitable renovations. I have a plan for the garage join with roof and size, size of security walls , no plan for option to make double garage or alternative parking, no plan for decked patio which is enclosed and braai area. Property size square meter, building size square meters. I wish to do project bit by bit but for whole concept to be architect once. I will need painting when this is hopefully done. Thanks
