The project involves the redevelopment of the former Amogela Mall, located on Mooi Street in the Welkom CBD, Free State, into the Welkom Luxury Mall — a modern, high-end commercial centre aimed at revitalising the surrounding urban area. Current Situation: The existing mall structure is partly deteriorated and surrounded by hard-paved and neglected open areas. There is minimal existing greenery, poor drainage, and limited pedestrian-friendly features. The site requires both rehabilitation and new landscaping to enhance its visual appeal, improve stormwater management, and create a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers. Design Vision and Style Preferences: The landscaping design should complement the mall’s modern luxury architectural style, using low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plants suitable for the Free State climate. The client prefers a clean, contemporary aesthetic that includes: Paved pedestrian walkways with integrated seating. Green pockets and planters near entrances and parking areas. Shaded areas with trees or pergolas to enhance comfort. Energy-efficient outdoor lighting for safety and ambience. Feature landscaping around the main entrances and signage zones. Integration of stormwater-friendly features, such as grassed channels or permeable paving, to reduce flooding risks. Project Scale: Approximate total site area: ±16, m² of building footprint with surrounding parking and open spaces. Basement and surface parking with landscaped islands. Landscaping expected mainly in external open areas, pedestrian zones, and mall frontage. Objective: To create an attractive, safe, and environmentally sustainable outdoor environment that enhances the luxury image of the new Welkom Luxury Mall while improving pedestrian flow and user experience.
Mostly lawn to mow, no garden as such, weeds on paving to remove, some hedges to be trimmed, it's a freestanding house with a flat next door which has a small garden as well. Total about sqm
We have 2 adjoining units with small front and back gardens. Front gardens roughly 40m², back gardens roughly 20m². Aprons roughly 10m² per garden section (2 front & 2 back). The complex does have a full-time worker than cuts the grass every 3-4 weeks, but does no further garden maintenance. This is not sufficient to maintain a neat lawn and garden beddings. We are looking for a garden service that will do a fortnightly/2x monthly arrangement to come in and if needed on a visit, mow the lawns; as well as every time doing the bedding maintenance/ updates per visit across the 2 units.
Current garden layout is simple and very disjointed, not appealing, hence I need someone to re design it, but continue to keep its simplicity. There are items that I need to be added to make the place more appealing, such as big stones including stone crush etc. I will prefer a service provider that will be prepared to come and see the garden, then we discuss my needs vs the budget or the charge the person places. This is done in order to avoid over or under charging which may finally cause conflict.
Need a clean up and suggestion of what plants to remove and what plants to plant. Braai area needs new grass or alternative solution for s”soggy” moist areas
Need water proofing repairs done ( scrapping plaster down , sealing cracks / water proofing cracks and replaster ) and then repainting entire house and perimeter walls). Need roof tiles to be looked at to see if they can be extended by one more tile around the entire house. Or solution for that. Gutters were flattened down against roof recently. But water still came through in certain places with this heavy rain. ( because they weren’t angled down but now that was done).
I had to get rid of my gardener and am currently uncertain as whether or not to replace him or use a garden service. I would to get a quote and test out your services. In light of the gardener not having been there a bit i require a clean up of the garden: cut lawn (treat for weed if possible too) shape trees and hedges weed paved area clean flower beds of weeds and leaves (and pots to be cleaned) . Would it be possible this week? regarsd
