Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
I would like to build a cottage - 2 beds 2 baths, lounge kitchen dining all O/P study nook, stoep. Bathrooms shower no baths 2nd ensuite to have excess from bedroom and from living area. single garage
3 bedrooms, open plan kitchen with a dining room, and a double garage.
I have a few ideas but I am not quite sure yet what I would like to go with. I need someone with more expertise to advise. Please let me know if you charge call-out fee as I would like someone to come to the flat to take a look at what is the best way forward.

I want to build a 4 bedroom two story home. 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 downstairs. The master bedroom should have an en suite bathroom and there should also be a separate shared bathroom. There should also be a separate toilet and a living room/entertaining area on the top floor. I have some further specs that can be sent upon request.
