How to get building plan approval in South Africa?
What you have to do to get the permit and where to start.
The house is situated in KwaMashu location. Services required is remodelling and extension of the existing old house with outside building (3 rooms and laundry room). The old existing building is standard 4 room house and I would like to change it to 3 bedroom house with one ensuite, second bathroom, open plan lounge-kitchen and garage for two cars. Proposed design should not be a double storey house. The services I require but not limited to design proposal, municipality approval, building and completing the house (Turnkey project). Attached is the recent plan that was not approved by the municipality.
House will be m2 built in Pezula Private Estate, estate guidelines to be followed.
Must be aware of the rules on Architects by the HOA of Pezula Private Estate.
I would like to build a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home. I would like to have a open lounge + dining area. I would love to have garage as well. The home will just be for my wife and I so it does not need to be anything too big or fancy.
16 sqm bedroom, ensuite 16sqm.

Second floor on top of existing structure. See left side of attached image the flat area. I want to add 3 bedrooms, all ensuite, 1 large master, 1 big enough for 2 boys sharing and 1 for girl. Must also have a living/tv room.
Pool deck on roof with possible small modular guest suite as well I am looking into doing something on the roof which is a pool deck and possibly a prefab guest suite that is mostly assembled off site, with bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom, something like this perhaps, or maybe you know a cheaper one: https://blockhouse.co.za/wp-content/uploads//05/Villa_.pdf A pool like the one in the pics attached- (which is on the roof of a heritage house around the corner from me in Clyde rd- ) with stairs from the patio and/or from the upstairs bathroom which already has a door sized window Let me know your thoughts please.
