• What could have been the cause of my geyser bursting?

  Some of the reasons your geyser broke open are: the pressure or temperature in the geyser increased beyond its operating margins because the thermostat has packed up, the geyser pressure vessel expires because of lack of maintenance, leaks that were caused by poor construction and substandard materials, or metal fatigue due to a rate rapid of expansion and contraction, caused by a huge difference the pressure and temperature of the cold water entering the geyser and the hot water in the cistern.

• Can I install a geyser outside?

  Yes, if you make sure it is under some sort of cover.

• Do I need to reinforce my trusses if the geyser is installed on my roof?

  The weight of the geyser must be adequately supported on the roof trusses. There should be two supports under the feet of the geyser; if not, you’ll need to reinforce the trusses.
