Wedding photographer

  • R4000 – R11,000

This is the price for a wedding photographer. The price includes 5–8 hours of wedding coverage and 250–500 edited photos in a digital format. All additional hours, photos, and services (e.g. wedding video, additional newlywed's photo shoot, etc.) are charged extra. The price depends on the level of expertise and experience of the photographer and your location. Before choosing a photographer, we recommend looking at their previous work to make sure their aesthetic matches your own. On average, wedding photographers charge between R4000 and R11,000.

Additional photo shoot (late afternoon, night shoot, etc.)

  • R1200 – R2200/hour

This is the per-hour-rate for additional wedding photo shoot not covered on the day of the wedding. A wedding – one of the most beautiful and memorable moments in a person's life – can be quite exhausting. Hence, couples often opt for a separate photo shoot on another day when they are rested, looking their best. The photo shoot is often carried out in the late afternoon an/or at night when the light conditions are particularly favourable to create magical results. For additional wedding photo shoot, expect to pay between R1200/hour and R2200/hour.

Wedding video

  • R8000 – R16,000

This is the price of a wedding video. The price depends on how many hours of coverage do you want (do you want to cover only the wedding ceremony or the ceremony and the reception) and your location. More experienced videographers cost more. The price includes video coverage on the wedding, all editing work, and a digital video file. Travel time, drone footage, extra edits, etc. are charged extra. Wedding video costs range between R8000 and R16,000 with an average of R12,000.

This is the price for a photo booth hire on the event. Photo booths are a fun and popular event prop (for weddings, parties, etc.) that insures a great time for the guests and can provide stunning, natural, and fun images. For photo booth hire, expect to pay between R1000 and R4000.

My oldest daughter is emigrating on 8 Feb with her husband and 3 children, ranging 10 months and 7 years. We are in the process of arranging a get together at Evergreen Bergvliet for 5 Feb, but time of day has not yer been established. There will be at least an additional 4 adults and possibly 6. There will not be another opportunity - the as-yet-unapproached 2 adults would be flying from Jhb for the weekend. Given that the idea is under wraps at the moment, I'm sure you will appreciate that coordinating a time this far in advance is fraught with delays, and I would therefore not be able to commit to a booking until closer to the time. Perhaps a starting point would be to put out feelers for 5 Feb. I assume that this will put me in a position where I have some idea of current availability and cost, and can answer Question 1 - "Do I pursue this idea?" We will certainly not be able to afford a session of longer that an hour. If 30 min is an option please include that too. Thanks for reading
