We've checked how much you'll pay on average for a wedding photography package. The final price depends on different factors, which are outlined below. Location is also an important factor.


Basic wedding package (1 photographer, 5–8 hours, 250–500 edited photos)

  • R5000 – R11,000

This is the price for a basic wedding photography package. The price includes one photographer, 5–8 hours of wedding coverage, and 250–500 edited photos. All additional hours, photos, and services (e.g. wedding video, additional newlywed's photo shoot, etc.) are charged extra. The price depends on the level of expertise and experience of the photographer and your location. Before choosing a photographer, we recommend looking at their previous work to make sure their aesthetic matches your own. For a basic wedding photography package, expect to pay between R5000 and R11,000.

Full service package (2 photographers and/or 1 videographer, 8+ hours, 400+ edited photos)

  • R19,000 – R44,000

This is the price for a full service wedding photography package. The price includes two photographers and/or 1 videographer, 8+ hours of wedding coverage, and 400+ edited photos. All additional hours, photos, and services (e.g. additional newlywed's photo shoot, drone footage, etc.) are charged extra. The price depends on the level of expertise and experience of the photographer and your location. Before choosing a photographer, we recommend looking at their previous work to make sure their aesthetic matches your own. The cost of a full-service wedding photography package typically runs from R19,000 to R44,000, averaging at R31,000.

Additional photo shoot (late afternoon, night shoot, etc.)

  • R1500 – R2800/hour

This is the per-hour-rate for additional wedding photo shoot not covered on the day of the wedding. A wedding – one of the most beautiful and memorable moments in a person's life – can be quite exhausting. Hence, couples often opt for a separate photo shoot on another day when they are rested, looking their best. The photo shoot is often carried out in the late afternoon an/or at night when the light conditions are particularly favourable to create magical results. For additional wedding photo shoot, expect to pay between R1500/hour and R2800/hour.

Wedding video

  • R10,000 – R20,000

This is the price of a wedding video. The price depends on how many hours of coverage do you want (do you want to cover only the wedding ceremony or the ceremony and the reception) and your location. More experienced videographers cost more. The price includes video coverage on the wedding, all editing work, and a digital video file. Travel time, drone footage, extra edits, etc. are charged extra. Wedding video costs range between R10,000 and R20,000 with an average of R15,000.

Photo booth hire

This is the price for a photo booth hire on the event. Photo booths are a fun and popular event prop (for weddings, parties, etc.) that insures a great time for the guests and can provide stunning, natural, and fun images. For photo booth hire, expect to pay between R1300 and R5000.
