Floor tiling prices depend on several factors. We have examined prices of different services and what influences them and pointed out what you need to pay attention to in order to get the best value for your money.

Floor tiling

  • R180 – R320/sqm

This is the labour price per square metre for laying floor tiles. Tiles, adhesive and grout are extra: ceramic tiles cost R80–R250/sqm, porcelain R200–R500/sqm, and adhesive and grout another R50–R150/sqm. Large-format or mosaic tiles take longer and cost R300–R600/sqm in labour. Uneven floors need screeding first, which adds R500–R5,000. For example, a 20 sqm porcelain lounge floor costs R3,600–R6,400 in labour and R8,600–R19,400 all-in. On average, expect to be charged between R180/sqm and R320/sqm for floor tiling.
