How much does an architect cost in South Africa?
The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) publishes "standard rates" based on a price per square meter when using a building cost of R12 500 per m².

Hi, The house is already built, and I have the approved plans with me. The house currently is square meters. There are 3 balconies, roughly totalling 18 square meters. Optionally, I want to add to the plan a room above my garage. The garage has a roof over it and is 36 square meters. I can discuss this further with the architect. I require the plan to be modified as above, approval with the home owners association board in my estate, and then approval at the deeds office. I need the fee for this service, and how long this process will take. Also aware that professionals might not edit someone elses work. So advice how we will go about.
