We are situated in Woodgate Road, Plumstead, Cape Town. We are looking at having the following done: (1) Removal of our bedroom window and replacing it with a French Door. The bottom part of the bricks need to be grinded/cut away (professionally so) from the main building structure (not just knocked/pounded out, as I cannot risk damage to our building structure because it's old) and once it is isolated by being professionally grinded/cut away it could then be knocked out (area is approximately 2,2m x 2m) (2) Wind-resistant L-Shaped Verandah (onto our structures) with waterproof dark green PVC roof to be erected to connect with our separate entrance (area is approximately 6m x 2,5m plus 7,5m x 2,5m) (3) Cement foundation laid and to be covered with outdoor tiling for the area mentioned in "(2)" above (4) Separate entrance door to be reopened again by professionally removing the bricked-up area (area is that of a standard door). We have two bathrooms in the house — the main en-suite bathroom and the passage (house) bathroom. Both currently have baths installed, and we would like to carry out renovations to modernize and improve functionality. The bathrooms share a common wall, which may simplify plumbing access. 2. Main En-Suite Bathroom Current setup: The bathroom includes a large built-in bath that we no longer use frequently. Required changes: Remove the existing bath and all associated fittings. Re-tile the affected areas (walls and floors), maintaining a clean and durable finish. Ensure sealing and waterproofing comply with current standards. 4. General Considerations The bathrooms are constructed with drywall partitions, which have been tiled. Contractor should: Assess the condition of existing drywall after tile removal. Replace or reinforce any sections compromised by moisture or demolition. Ensure all surfaces are correctly prepared for retiling and waterproofing. Additional items: Removal and disposal of old fixtures, tiles, and waste. Minor finishing such as painting touch-ups, silicone sealing, and edge trims. If necessary, provide options for tile selection, shower fixtures, and bath fittings. 5. Deliverables / Quotation Requirements Please provide: A detailed cost estimate broken down by demolition, plumbing, waterproofing, tiling, fixtures, and finishing. Estimated timeframe for completion.
