Is it cheaper to build or buy a house in South Africa in 2025?
The short answer is that it is cheaper to buy an existing house in South Africa but every year less so.
I want to build a triple (tandem) garage with a 2 bedroom living quarters above it on an approximately square metre property in 92 Broadway Street, Pearly Beach. I include some rough sketches of what I have in mind as well as the location on the plot. At a later time I would like to build a main house on the remainder of the property, but I haven't decided on that design yet.

I have an outbuilding which has a single garage and a room.I would like to explore affordable options to convert this to a granny flat and possibly add a double garage hopefully with a further possibility of later adding on an upper level.
