Good move, Mia Miga 👏 — getting a few quotes will help you compare fairly and see who takes you seriously. Here’s a short, clear message you can send to each lawyer (works perfectly by email or WhatsApp): --- Subject: Request for Quote – Cease & Desist + Harassment My name is . I’d like to request a quotation for legal assistance regarding a harassment and defamation matter. I require a consultation and the drafting of a combined cease-and-desist and harassment letter to be sent to the individuals involved. Could you please confirm: 1. Your consultation fee, 2. The total cost for drafting the letter, and 3. Whether it’s possible to have the full process (consultation + letter) done within a budget of around R3,. I’m based in Johannesburg South but open to online consultation if that’s an option. Kind regards

I am seeking legal assistance regarding an attempted and, in my view, unlawful termination of my month-to-month residential lease at The Atlanta Amberfield City. The landlord has issued a termination notice effective 30 November , allegedly due to repeated fines for supposed breaches of the estate’s conduct rules. I have disputed these fines in writing, as they are unsupported by evidence and procedurally defective. Despite my formal objections and reliance on the lease’s 20-business-day remedy clause (Clause 23.2), the landlord refused to engage further, stated they “do not intend to prove their case,” and proceeded to charge fines to my rental account before the dispute was resolved. I now require legal guidance on challenging the validity of the termination, recovering any wrongful charges, and ensuring compliance with the Rental Housing Act and Consumer Protection Act.

Good day, I would like to ask for help in taking legal action against a firm that did not provide wise counsel when we tried to get legal services. My son had a Permanent Residence Permit declined by the Department of Home Affairs last year. The decision was signed by the DG on 09 October and noted on the outcome collection on 22 October . Through a referral, we got to the Banda Law Firm in Rivonia, Johannesburg, on 24 October . The reasons for the rejections were: “According to our assessment, your father entered into a marriage of convenience with a South African citizen for the purpose of obtaining permanent residence in South Africa. Your application is premised on your father’s status as a naturalised South African citizen. Your father obtained his permanent residence and naturalisation status under questionable circumstances which therefore renders his status doubtful. In addition, it was discovered that your alleged parent, Edmore , did not indicate or mention you as being his child on his original application for Permanent Residence; therefore, the birth certificate as submitted in support of your application is questionable. You, therefore, do not qualify for permanent residence in terms of Section 27(g) of the Immigration Act. You may, within 10 working days from the date of receipt of this notice, make written representations for a review or appeal of the decision to the Director General through www.vfsglobal.com/dha/southafrica.” The detailed brief of the entire story is provided in the attached document.
