We began the process in January and only now has my final tax submission been finalised. The issues for which I sought his services, he was unable to do, despite assuring me that he would be able to. He is terrible at following up, he cannot communicate in a professional way and requires continuous prompts to get the work done. He accused me of impropriety when I questioned the manner in which he prepared my financials. I made my first payment for financials on 11 Jan, he finalised previous tax returns in late May. For this financial period, I paid on the 10th of July (the financial statements had been prepared, all he had to do was file). Only today did he file the final tax return, and only after I asked for a refund. He cites personal issues as the reason for his lack of response, but I have been exceptionally patient, allowing him time to get through it and my work. Eventually, because of lack of response, I asked my husband to enquire when he would be filing my return after which he sent me an exceptionally rude voicenote, once again full of insinuation. I have taken my time to consider this review, not wanting to give someone an unnecessary review in case it damages their business. In light of everything I have been through with Hendrik, I can confidently say that while he may be a capable accountant, he is unprofessional and I could not in good conscience recommend him to another business or individual. I cannot give him more than 1 star.
