I had registered with SARS and paid one year of taxes. Then my accountant was quite ill and got behind, and then when I was overseas he died and I didn't find out until I returned. He has left me two years behind on filing a return. Normally this would be a simple job, every year, now that Sotheby's Lew Geffen manages the properties. However, the two years that I am behind were a chaos of builders, roofers, and plumbers, as well as clumsy attempts by me to rent rooms and flats to individuals (more than one disappeared into the night). I believe I can recover nearly all the necessary receipts and records. I stay near Stellenbosch now. I intend to start investing some of the rental income next year on the JSE. Hi I am connected with Zonewatch. I asked them to upgrade my system with extra batteries in the roof as our system dies within a half an hour from when load shedding happens. We have 4 eyes. a alarm at the front of the driveway and 2 panic buttons. The existing panic buttons needs to be replaced, an extra panic button to be put in the dining room, an extra eye in the study to secure the study and work room and the existing battery in the roof that cannot support the system when the electricity is off to be replaced with an extra power pack as a backup when the electricity goes off
A deck sits over my bedroom. The deck has a water feature and has planter trenches built into the low perimeter wall of the deck. There are signs of damp in the ceiling of the bedroom. The leak is only on one side of the pitched roof close to the parapet wall. The leak is intermittent depending on the angle of the rain. On inspection the tiles all appear to be in good condition and no cracks were found. It could be something to do with the flashing installed where the tiles meet the wall.
