My wife and I are about to enter SA on Temporary Retirement and Spousal Visas. We will spend less than days per year in SA with our daughters and grandchildren. We are retired and are not required to submit tax returns in the UK - we receive an automatic Annual Tax Calculation based on our pension incomes. We qualify for Certificates of Residence in the UK. We have been advised that we must undertake a "Tie Breaker Test" with a SA tax consultant in order to be deemed as not being required to submit SA tax returns.
