How to choose the right architect for your house plans?
This four-step process should help you find the right architect for the job of drawing house plans.
Looking to add an extension to my existing property. It is 4 x 2bedroom duplexes each consisting of a Full bathroom, Open plan Lounge, Dining Room, and Kitchen. With a little yard space. Front and back entrance to Duplex with wash area situated in one end. Units set to be 80 square meters each with also a pamper room in the down section. Will require electricity and water supply as well run from main house piping and elect however to be separately billed.
Building a low cost retirement home. 2 Bedrooms 2 bathrooms, lounge, dining, kitchen open plan, in a U shape. I have bought the property and have fairly specific ideas on the style I want. I am going solar off the grid. Have an existing water connection. Will need French drains etc. I have a self drawn sketch of the plan I would like, but would need to discuss a lot of features with the architect.

I am planning on building a single story house. 4 bedrooms 3 full bathrooms 1and one half bathroom. master bedroom with en suite and walk in closet. All bedrooms should be spacious with good size closets. 3 car garages. Open plan living, dining and kitchen. Media room, pantry and laundry room. Love the L shaped house because I want it to surround the pool area.
I need help please we used a architect to draw extensions on our Current home, the architect disposed our original house plans. The Municipality did not approve the new plans with the extensions on they said the plans doest make sin. No we will have to first redraw the original house and then put the extensions on. If somebody can contact me please on i do have the drawings that need to be redraw. It’s a 3 bedroom house. Would like to like add a bathroom in two of the rooms . One in the main room and the second room. Would like to add another room. Bedroom 1: mother Bedroom 2: daughter 1 - adding bathroom Bedroom 3: daughter 2 Add bedroom 4: for daughter 3 Breaking and extending the whole kitchen . The toilet is separate to the bathroom , would like to have that combined and make as one if possible .
I want to add a closed deck to the side of my house near the pool. I need some designs for this. My thinking was to put a wall on the left and then do like glass for the other three walls to make it see through. But in need of some ideas / inspiration to make the deck a nice area to braai and kuier and be able to see outside to watch the kids etc.
I would like to add an outbuilding to our yard. 3x7 or 4x7m. I will start to buy all my material slowly but surely. However I have two kids and I need this building. I need a quote on a plan for this building please. A lounge and kitchen included doesn't need to be too big. My main priority is a bedroom. Thank you.
We have just moved into a home in the country, it is a beautiful home and I would love to know how to decorate it properly. I love the country/farmhouse style decor but have no idea where to source furniture of this kind or even where to start. I would love some advice, some guidance and some help!! It is a big home so we would possibly look at room by room, when we can afford it. This is my dream home and would love it to be furnished to bring out the character of the house.
(1) obtain/redraw existing plans as we do not have this for the house (2) design a boma area of about 8x6m (3) design extension of existing house 3,7x4,7m (4) design a way to cover up /extend the house's U-shape veranda. We'd like to use the plans to obtain a quote from construction guys... project will not start immediately but I need an amount to work towards to.
