Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.

New build in Cotswold down estates in Hillcrest. +- sqm to be built To design a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom stately single storey home with a central courtyard that is covered with a glass atrium and lap pool.
14 meters by 4 meters (56 square meters) in size. It is going to be a vibracrete house on a back yard property. The 14 meter front wall will have 5 windows & 14 meter back wall will have two fixed windows with the main door. Both 14 meter walls will be 1 meter away from neighbors boundary walls. So "No Objection Forms " will be necessary, but not a problem because of good neighbors. I want to do it within Building Code Planning Regulations.
I would like to build residential units of bachelor flats, one bedroom and two bedrooms in Bethanie for the miners and low-to-medium earning workers around there. Total units should be 16 on the property purchased. Units must include basic facility needs such as a toilet/bathroom in each. The least amount of space should be used to construct each unit, with parking and a lapa/play area facility on the premises.
