Frequently asked questions
-
What does landscaping include?
Landscaping is the act of transforming an outdoor area either by planting and construction or by reorganising. It includes landscaping maintenance services - mowing, pruning, tree removal, edging, cultivation, fertilization, broadleaf application, and landscaping design - design of lighting, patios, decks and walkways.
-
What is the best time to landscape your garden?
The best time to design your garden is autumn. Given that the weather isn't too harsh, the relatively dry but cool temperatures make landscaping and garden makeovers much more manageable than in the summer months. Autumn is also the best time to plan your vegetable garden since the soil will be moist and easier to work with than during the summer months.

Renovate front and back garden
FRONT GARDEN: Garden soil is sand, we are on the 2nd dune from the beach. Strong winds. Front garden slopes down to the road. Front garden has a low loffelstone wall which we want to keep. Lawn is almost non existant - mostly veld grass. Need to have 1 very large wild strelitzia removed and replaced by a Tree similar to Kei Apple or other large tree in front garden. Garden soil needs fertilizer and lots of compost and the lawn needs to be resurected. Need to have irrigation installed so we can plant trees along the road curb for shade and to attract birds and butterlies etc. Would like some flowering drought resistant plants to plant in the top of the loffel stone wall like Wild fig or cape honey suckle. Area between loffel stone wall and road has veldgrass/LM grass and irrigation needs to reach this as this is where the trees will be planted, lookinf for about 5 fast growing trees along the road. BACK GARDEN Back garden has a very old run down rockery. This needs to be cleaned up, terraced and renovated. Grass in bottom section below rockery looks like it could be kikuyu - but could also be LM or similar creeping grass in some places. Again it is mostly veldgrass. Lawn which is in front of the bedrooms which face onto the back garden and which is on level ground above the rockery, is veld grass. Would like ideas as to what to do with this area to make it attractive and also to stop sand blowing into the bedrooms when wind blows.
