After talking to them and some word-of-mouth recommendation, we went with Mr Mpho. So far, all is going smooth and according to plans. NHBRC is the National Home Builder's Registration Council. Its function are to keep a register of home builders, oversee the construction of residential homes to see to it that proper building standards are adhered to and to provide a warranty service for major structural defects. Any new build in SA requires you to have NHBRC registration.
The construction contract should include at least: the name of the contractor and contact information, the name of the homeowner and contact information, description of property in legal terms, the cost, description of the work, the completion date and the right to stop the project.

Hi, we are interested in buying a piece of land in one of George's less costly estates ( Mont Fleur, Welgelegen, Blanco, Kraaibosch, etc ), maybe around m2 to 1,m2. Mountain views necessary. Please advise with regards to your building contract structure. If I purchase the full housing contract package, then do the builders supply their own material. For example cement, paint etc.? Please advise on all the different options and how it impacts pricing.

I live in an old Victorian house. It’s a grade IIB listed property. I’ll be doing heritage-approved renovations. I’m looking for a builder that understands the requirements for these old homes as all building work needs to be sympathetic to the materials used in these houses (ie, lime mortar and plaster). Portland cement cannot be used as part of this project. Airplast is a good project that should be used instead, so a builder with knowledge of this product or similar is essential.
