Construction still in progress, but overall am having a pleasant experience with the owner, despite some hiccups and miscommunications. I do find him to be very friendly, helpful and willing to assist where possible. He seems to be open and honest. I also believe he can be reliable, despite the hiccups that was a direct result of circumstances such as vehicle troubles, etc. Quality of work delivered so far, despite the few hiccups and miscommunications, is very good.
Time frame.Lack of communication - neither with me, nor workers which lead directly to some activities which was done without prior knowledge and directly contributed to material wastages. No direct supervision as was promised (due to vehicle problems).No designs / layouts provided for room layout preparation / space planning, as was promised. Rubble dumped outside the yard for weeks without removal thereof, despite numerous requests to have it removed. Lack of transparency in breakdowns of material and labour portions and numbers not adding up.
The owner/foreman was well-spoken and kind and the work was completed neatly. Footprint also returned early the next morning to repair the leak without question.
All material costs should be specified and agreed to before the work commenced. Plan better to ensure that the work agreed to is completed in the time-frame needed before leaving the site.
The problem was that, I had to give a telephonic quote without physically assessing the job. Insufficient information of the job.
Did the work perfectly. No complaints.

I have a bachelor flat that needs has a roof and sealing that needs to be replaced with new.
The existing wooden door which leads onto the balcony from the apartment blocks stairwell was broken off by the wind. We need the frame repaired if damaged and the door which is a hollow door replaced with a solid wooden door but the cheapest one available. The new solid door has to look similar to the other balcony doors in the block, please see the attachment for the design. The existing hinges, lock and door handle can be used on the new door. If the new door can be varnished in the same colour as the old one then please go ahead but if not then no problem, we will varnish it.
