Is it cheaper to build or buy a house in South Africa?
The short answer is that it is cheaper to buy an existing house in South Africa but every year less so.
I have 8 completed garages and want plans to convert 4 or 5 garages into home and other 3 or 4 stays garages. The plans i currently have shows it halved into 2 homes and plans are not approved by previous architect. I purchased it in this manner. I need to still activate electricity and water but only until plans are approved.
Just bought a vacant land, I just want to have a double storey house. When you walk in the first thing you seee is a big hallway faced by stairs leading to the bedrooms . Each bedroom with ensuite and a walk in closet. I would love 3 bedroom up stairs and the other 2 bedrooms downstairs. I want a big kitchen that would oppositely face the dining room. Also want two lounges one large, and the other one medium small.

This is a small extension of an enclosed braairoom +- 11m sq and the fitting of 2 existing windows and a newly constucted 4 m stack door. The roof is not tiled but some sort of metal or composite water proofing, light enough not to need a metal lintel. Good Day - I am looking to do some internal changes in the house. I would like to open up the inside walls between the family room, dining room and kitchen. We need to understand which walls can be removed and which can't. Addition to existing studio / room in the roof. What is required is brickwork, roof, floor (pine), no sanding and painting, and the windows and door (Aluminium): Engineering drawing for pinning the roof against the walls. No plastering inside / only outside. No plumbing / no electricity / no bathroom / no balcony. Thats it, unless I prefer email contact for the quotes.
i am buying an old split level house (on pic)& needs improvement & facelifting: 1. i need to put stairs connecting the main house to the balcony (inside) 2. add verandah to the front of the house (similar to th picture) 3. replace some windows with glass doors leading to patio 4. change small front door to a larger size
