How long does an architectural project typically last?

It's a small bathroom in a 1 1/2 bed flat, it needs a makeover. The washbasin is next to the shower, the toilet by the door, I want the toilet next to the shower and the washbasin by the door. Then I think the shower, toilet and washbasin need an upgrade and the bathroom to look like a fairly good hotel one.
I need someone who can help me choose suitable wall decorations, lighting and furniture colours that complement one another. I want the consultant to consider what is available in the house and help me choose colours of what is missing, as well as help by suggesting wall decor. It would be ideal if the consultant is able to simulate and provide a picture of what the house would look like at the end of the project.
We built our own house about 5 years ago but never finished the entrance/upstairs living area in terms of design and finishes. It has basically remained an open unfinished space since we moved in. We are now at the point whereby we would like to make use of the area but due to shape/size we are at a bit of a loss at how best to utilize the space. Hence the reason I am contacting you. Ideally I would like somebody to come in and construct some suggestions for review before proceeding to complete finish of project ranging from painting and wallpapering to installation of furnishings such as rugs, sofas, plants etc.
Want to remodel the kitchen, this includes the following: 1. Breakdown 1 wall and build a wall where there is currently an entry way 2. Install new cupboards, counter tops, island, lights, appliances, faucet, back splash, floors 3. The space is estimated at 10 square meters 4. The style will be Traditional and color scheme is White with little insert of light wood cupboard and dark island. Light counter tops and gold handles
Kitchen: I would like a quote for remodelling the kitchen in the house we have just purchased. I would like to remove all existing cabinets and install modern farm style green cabinets, with a wooden work top. We would want cabinets only on the bottom half and open shelving on the top, as it has a pantry and we would not need cabinets above. I would also like a matching island, preferably with a Butler's sink and space for 3 bar stools. We would also want to replace the existing sinks with butler's sinks.
I am currently completing an interior design online course through the Institute of Interior Design, and as part of my coursework, I am trying to find out more about fee structures for interior designers in Cape Town. I am planning on moving my little aesthetic spa to kloof street. I have a store layout, and a few ideas of what my look and feel should look like.
