Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
Looking for an affordable quote and urgent (this week asap) assistance to draft a 50m2 cabin's plan I want to build in Betty's Bay. I will provide the design and full detail (not in a usable file format) to avoid time being wasted on changes. The architect can simply copy and paste my design to draft the plan and submit it for council approval this week in Kleinmond ...or I can submit the plan.

Project is to renovate an old bryanston house in phases. Starting with the interior, ceiling, walls, floors for the entire house. then remodelling a newish bathroom and building a walkin cupboard from scratch for the main bathroom. We'd like to start with the end in mind, so to have a full picture of evertyhing, including the exterior walls and roof. We have a contractor we trust and have seen several projects he's done for friends but he is clueless when it comes to helping with the design/redesign, especially around remodelling the bathroom for more space and the walk in cupboard.
Eish...I'm not sure if my initial request will get to the same person. I asked for an architect but I really need someone to help with design/outlining a bathroom, a walk in cupboard as well as an overview of an old house. Most of the interior is solid but we'd like to give them an upgrade/modern feel.
2 1/2 × 2 car garage leading to a 2 bed nutec or wooden house with open plan kitchen and an indoor fireplace. The full bathroom is between the 2 bedrooms while the front porch is the difference plus more of the width of the garage being 2 1/2 car width. The fencing must also be included in the plan where the fence facing the house , which is the same as the fence of the neighbour should be solid to maintain the privacy of the laundry and washing lines.
I would like to modernize this house on a very tight budget with the intention of renting it out as a short term holiday destination. I believe the existing doors and windows should all be replaced and the wooden second level floor should be replaced by a concrete slab. The upstairs rooms should open onto a balcony (Approx 3m wide) on the backside of the house overlooking the pool and sea in the distance. The area under the balcony can be partially enclosed using bi-folding or stacking doors and the rest can be incorporated into the ground floor open plan entertainment area. The front perimeter should have a double garage façade and steel palisade fence to secure the premises. A swimming pool and braai pit area should be located along the North-eastern boundary line. And a granny flat along the back of the premises. I think there is sufficient space to fit 4 bedrooms with ensuites, a room for my 7ft pool table, lounge area, kitchen, guest bathroom in close proximity to the swimming pool.
Modern building. The building will be used as guest house. The building will have parking on the ground floor, have 1st and 2nd floor. Each room must have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenete and dining open plan. A small conference hall to accommodate at least 40 people Minimum of 20 rooms including, reception. we bought house last year and according the municipality is there no building plans for Olifantshoek houses so we need a plan for it and we also want to build an extra room with bathroom on it. We need an architect to help us with drawing up a plan for the house. On yard is also a flat with a garage.
I have house with a braai area on the building plans but i have not build it yet but since i am not happy with my living room space i want to build a new living area on the braai area that is bigger that the approved plans and on the second floor on top the new living area i want to have my braai area
