The front of the house is a double storey, the back is only one storey. I need another floor added to the single storey, with a double garage, bedroom, bathroom and entertainment room. As well as a kitchen and dining room at the bottom of the existing floor. The bottom floor would be around 11 x 9sqm and the top floor would be 6 x 9sqm.
We would like to add a roof with to an existing structure outside by the kitchen door as it has current walls plus two small gates. I would like to remove a 4m long wall separating the kitchen and dining room area to create a more open plan house. I suspect I will need to put some sort of supporting beam at the top to support the roof structure. I live in a semi-detached house in the woosdtock area, the house is >60 years old and has high ceilings. My meter box is a Hexinga. I bought the house and that’s the box that was there. I have a gas stove so no power from there is being used, the geyser is on, the TV’s are on but not through out the day and lights, fridge is on, but that’s about it and we 3 in the property and still the usage is high.
