Do I need an architect if I want to build a house in South Africa?
A professional that is registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession must submit the building plans before extending, renovating or building a home.
There’s already a foundation.

2 storey house. 4 bedroom and double garage
looking for a simple yet sophisticated square-shaped design with some character, in addition to an A frame existing building without having to disrupt too much of the current roof but build in a way that the existing roof is not so visible, to go out on either side of the property by 2 meters with double garage.
I would like to know if we could set up an appointment some time. I also need to know if you have a link to a portfolio that I can review. Also advise whether you would be able to act as the principal agent.
Existing s house with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, open plan kitchen/dining/lounge, double garage. We need an extra bedroom, a second bathroom, and maybe an extension of the lounge, and definitely a covered patio. An idea would be to bring the double garage forward towards the street, but that would bring it closer than 5 metres towards the road. So - we need professional advice.
