Hi there guys, I wonder if Cochrane would be able to assist me? I support two animal shelters based in Gauteng. The one shelter have had to relocate to Tarlton (basically over the road from Tarlton International Raceway), where they have had to start from scratch on what was farm land. The number of dogs and cats are fast increasing, however they do not have a suitable enclosure for the cats. Prior to having to relocate they had in the region of about dogs and cats (about cats). They had to stop taking in additional animals to reduce the number of animals they would to relocate to the new site, but the quantity of animals are drastically increasing once again. I have supported them since I adopted my first of 4 cats and 6 dogs in . They are a registered NPO and so they are able to issue a Section 18a Certificate for tax purposes. They have to fence off about / meters of perimeter fencing but at this stage I’m really getting more involved in the development of the cat shelter / enclosure. I’m looking for a reputable company such as Cochrane to assist and preferably sponsor the building of the cat enclosure. As far as the fence type I concerned, I feel that 2,1m high welded mesh with mm x 50mm apertures would be suitable (although 50mm x 50mm apertures would be safer. It doesn’t have to be the thickest wire as it is simply to enclosure the cats and not for security purposes. I’m looking at the perimeter being 15m x 30m and then within that 15 x30m have three smaller enclosures 15m x 20m and 10m x 6m and 10m x 9m. Being a cat enclosure the entire top is obviously going to have to be fenced off closing the cats in completely, (so that’s about liner meters of vertical fencing and the top will be about m2 (however there are going to have to be enclosed shelters from the rain within that area). Having grown up in Magaliesburg in my early days, I know a number of the farmers out there personally. I would be willing to speak to a few of them and find out if your company could erect an advertising board on their farm. This should also be of benefit to you guys as this is the main road from Johannesburg to Rustenburg & Sun City. I would really appreciate it if Cochrane would be prepared to assist me here as animal shelters are a definite necessity in our day and age.
