When do I need a building permit in South Africa?
In South Africa, building applications for the construction of property and land use are highly regulated.
I need someone who can help me choose suitable wall decorations, lighting and furniture colours that complement one another. I want the consultant to consider what is available in the house and help me choose colours of what is missing, as well as help by suggesting wall decor. It would be ideal if the consultant is able to simulate and provide a picture of what the house would look like at the end of the project.
We built our own house about 5 years ago but never finished the entrance/upstairs living area in terms of design and finishes. It has basically remained an open unfinished space since we moved in. We are now at the point whereby we would like to make use of the area but due to shape/size we are at a bit of a loss at how best to utilize the space. Hence the reason I am contacting you. Ideally I would like somebody to come in and construct some suggestions for review before proceeding to complete finish of project ranging from painting and wallpapering to installation of furnishings such as rugs, sofas, plants etc.
I am currently completing an interior design online course through the Institute of Interior Design, and as part of my coursework, I am trying to find out more about fee structures for interior designers in Cape Town. We have recently moved into a modern apartment. Not all of previous furniture,works for the space aesthetically. Kitchen and living room are open plan so a flow and colours that work together would be great. Help required to put together looks and style the kitchen, living room and master bedroom.
