Is it cheaper to build or buy a house in South Africa?
The short answer is that it is cheaper to buy an existing house in South Africa but every year less so.
I would like to add an outbuilding to our yard. 3x7 or 4x7m. I will start to buy all my material slowly but surely. However I have two kids and I need this building. I need a quote on a plan for this building please. A lounge and kitchen included doesn't need to be too big. My main priority is a bedroom. Thank you.
We have just moved into a home in the country, it is a beautiful home and I would love to know how to decorate it properly. I love the country/farmhouse style decor but have no idea where to source furniture of this kind or even where to start. I would love some advice, some guidance and some help!! It is a big home so we would possibly look at room by room, when we can afford it. This is my dream home and would love it to be furnished to bring out the character of the house.
(1) obtain/redraw existing plans as we do not have this for the house (2) design a boma area of about 8x6m (3) design extension of existing house 3,7x4,7m (4) design a way to cover up /extend the house's U-shape veranda. We'd like to use the plans to obtain a quote from construction guys... project will not start immediately but I need an amount to work towards to.
I just bought a new stand in Bloemfontein area and looking to build a sqm house with 4 beds, 4.5 baths and 2-3 garages. Currently, I'm looking to get a plan completed and looking for 2 cost options: if architect provides approved plans only, and also if architect were to project manage until the end of the build.
Hi, I am looking at having 1 bedroom painted and, depending on the cost, an additional bedroom painted as well. The floor area for each room is about 20 sqm. The paint on the walls in bedroom 1 may need to be scrapped off/filled in to make the final coat even. The second bedroom has a single wood panel that runs horizontally across the room that would need to be removed before the room can be painted.
We need a kitchen extension out the back of our house as well as a bedroom extension out the side of our house. There is also a possibility of adding a bathroom on suite to the extended bedroom depending on cost. There is an existing outside wall that will need to be broken down in order to build the bedroom extension. Kitchen : extend out by 2m. We have 3 bedroom units that need painting, Walls, Cupboards inside and doors, Skirtings. The lounge area walls and kitchen walls above cupboards to be painted. All Ceilings to be painted in the unit including the 3 bathrooms and 1 geyser box in guest bathroom. Some bathroom walls are Tilled to the Ceiling so not much painting in them.
